Last Minute Christmas Gifts for the Family

I finally felt like the Christmas holidays had arrived yesterday. James and I were treated to a special lunch, just the two of us, at a nice restaurant. It was such a lovely time. Then we ran a couple of errands and came home. But there was just no rush. I’ve completed all my sponsorship obligations for the year, so that is a big weight off my shoulders. And today I’m training my two assistants to take over yet another task that I can gladly pass on to them. So I’m beginning to breathe a little more easy these days.

Last Minute Christmas Gifts for the Whole Family

I’m spending these two days getting all the loose ends tied up at work and then we’re spending the holiday weekend with family. I think I’ve finished my shopping, but we do have one package we still need to ship to my son and daughter-in-law because we’re waiting on one thing to arrive. Oh, and we need to get some gift cards for a fun gift card exchange with my family. (Check out these gift card deals!)

Are you still shopping for any last minute Christmas gifts? If so, I’ve got you covered. My assistants – God bless them! – rounded up some great last minute deals for you. These are all things that you should {hopefully – fingers crossed!} be able to get in time for Christmas Eve or even pick up locally after ordering online. And Holly and Lucy found great gifts for everyone on your list, too. I hope this is helpful to you.

Gifts from Walmart and Nordstrom

Lucy rounded up some last minute gifts from Nordstrom and Walmart. We were hunting for gifts that you can have shipped in time to arrive by Christmas Eve, or that you could order and pick up in the store later this week.

Last Minute Gifts from Kohl’s and Amazon

I know many of my readers enjoy shopping Kohl’s. And if you have one nearby you can probably order things online (staying out of the crowds!) and then pick up in the store easily enough. But you’ll also find items on Holly’s shopping list from Amazon, too. You know that you can often get next day or even same day shipping from Amazon, depending on where you live.

Thanks so much for dropping in today. I do hope you’ve completed your shopping and that you found this helpful if not. Tomorrow I’ll be sharing what I’m packing for my Christmas holiday. Yay!

Blessed for My Day

Jesus’ cousin John was given the divine task of preparing the way for the Messiah. He preached a hard message. Today we would call it hellfire and brimstone. Not very popular, but oh so necessary. Before we can truly accept the gracious gift of salvation, we must, indeed, realize that we need one. Pride and a willful, sinful lifestyle stand in the way of recognizing that need.

We don’t have to preach the hard message of repentance that John proclaimed (unless the Lord so leads, of course). But we do have opportunities to share with others the guilt over sin that we have been relieved of through the grace and mercy that only Jesus can offer. When we drop the veil of pretense and honestly share with others that we have made more mistakes than we can count, we let them know that we, too, needed forgiveness and cleansing. That opens the door for honest, gracious conversations that can then lead to someone celebrating the best Christmas ever – one in which they truly comprehend the mercy of God through the baby in that manger.

And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven ~ Luke 1:76-78

xoxo, Kay
