Hello dear reader. I do hope you had a beautiful Christmas. But even if family members were far away, someone was ill (maybe even you), the weather was frightful or you were missing a loved one who passed recently, I hope you were able to celebrate the coming of Emanuel, God with us, for at least a few thoughtful minutes. Holidays can be hard, but the truth of Christmas offers us hope and peace regardless. Let’s grab hold of that and choose to be grateful.
I’m actually taking the day off and enjoying more time with family, but last week I put together this post using the analytics from my affiliate programs. It’s always helpful for me to look through the data at year end so that I can see what is resonating with my readers. I’ll also be publishing other “TOP 22 in 2022” posts in the next few days and even into next week. I think these are fun to look through as well as insightful.
Today let’s see what readers at DFMD and viewers at my YouTube Channel have purchased the most through 2022. Granted, my analytics do not actually disclose what was purchased by my followers. But the affiliate links for these products are the ones most clicked through that resulted in purchases.
Let’s go in order of #22 to #1, just for funsies!
#22 – Lightweight Linen Blend Wrap
I introduced this cotton and linen blend wrap when I shared the Coastal Grandmother video. I purchased one of these myself and love it. It’s a nice wrap for a wedding or other occasion, but works equally well for less formal situations, especially in the warmer months.

#21 – Suede Water Resistant Combat Boots
You’ll notice that a lot of these best sellers are things I shared much earlier in the year, so sales have accumulated over the course of the year. But I just shared these Suede Water Resistant Combat Boots in recent posts in the fall.

#20 – Muslin Throw Blanket
I shared these Muslin Throw Blankets in one of my summer monthly favorites posts. I had purchased one to have something soft and light to drape over me while I have my coffee on chilly mornings during the warmer months. I LOVE mine, so I hope you do, too.
In fact I purchased another one of these Muslin Throw Blankets to give as a Christmas gift. They make really nice hostess gifts for summertime visits.
#19 – Glen Plaid Hampshire Ankle Pants
These are definitely one of my favorite purchases in 2022 (that post is coming soon!), and I hope you’re enjoying them, too, if you’re one of the many women who purchased the Glen Plaid Hampshire Ankle Pants through Dressed for My Day.
As of 12/16/22, these Glen Plaid Hampshire Ankle Pants are still available. They will be in my closet all year long and work beautifully with so many things in my closet for all four seasons. They run true to size.
#18 – Linen Pull-On Shorts
Of course these Linen Pull-On Shorts from Talbots are no longer available, but evidently a lot of you purchased yours last summer anyhow. I bet Talbots will come out with a similar short again this summer. I really didn’t wear shorts a lot this summer, but when I did it was usually these linen shorts.
They came in several nice colors and fit true to size. I’ve got mine tucked away for warmer weather!
#17 – Hammered Link Necklace
Also from Talbots, this Hammered Link Necklace is another favorite of mine. These chain link necklaces have really been trending the last couple of years, and my bet is we’ll be seeing them at least another year.
The Hammered Link Necklace is perfect for an open collar, and last I checked it’s still available and marked down.
#16 – Cole’s Flaming Squirrel Sauce
What?!? What’s this Cole’s Flaming Squirrel Sauce doing in our top sellers? Hahaha! Well, my husband purchased this early in 2022 to keep the squirrels from tearing up our birdfeeder, and I mentioned it in my Coffee with Kay post that month. We took a little flack because some readers misunderstood our intentions and methods. The Cole’s Flaming Squirrel Sauce doesn’t hurt or even bother squirrels. They just don’t like it, so they don’t eat the bird food that has been seasoned with a few drops of it.
On the other hand, birds actually like or don’t taste the hot sauce. And we love squirrels. But we don’t like them scaring off the birds or hogging all the bird food or, worse, tearing up the bird feeder. Anyhow, evidently lots of readers took advantage of the Cole’s Flaming Squirrel Sauce, too. I hope it’s serving you well. We purchased a new, sturdier bird feeder and are delighted to report that we have several squirrels playing sweetly on our wood pile, but none on the bird feeder.
#15 – Natural Colored Modern Ankle Jeans
This past spring and summer natural colored jeans were considered more on trend than pure white ones. That’s not to say that white jeans were or are out of style. Far from it! But the natural colored ones looked fresh and modern. So I shared 5 Ways to Wear Natural Colored Jeans with these great ankle jeans from Talbots.
Again, I’ve got mine tucked away for spring. But you can certainly wear these now if you have them and desire to.
#14 – Travel Anti Theft Crossbody Bag
When my friend Shelly Wildman shared with us her 10 Tips for Women Traveling Solo, she listed the Travel Anti Theft Crossbody Bag as one of her travel must-haves. And evidently a lot of you traveling ladies decided you “must have” it, too. Ha!
I don’t have the Travel Anti Theft Crossbody Bag, but it does look really nifty and secure. I love that you don’t need to carry a wallet in it.
#13 – Brush Cleaning Mat
Several of the upcoming bestsellers are beauty products or tools that I mentioned in videos throughout the year. I do indeed use this Brush Cleaning Mat to get residue off of my eyeshadow brushes.
It works dry for a quick tidy-up and with your favorite cleaning products for more thorough cleaning. More on that in a bit!
#12 – L’Oreal Paris Le Color Gloss One Step In-Shower Toning Hair Gloss
I mentioned that I’d been using the L’Oreal Paris Le Color Gloss One Step In-Shower Toning Hair Gloss in a Coffee with Kay I believe. It helps keep the brassiness out of grey hair. But it also helps restore a little moisture and health.

Well you know I love my Talbots Straight Leg Travel Pants. I have them in black, but they do come in navy now, too. And yes, I actually do travel in them.

I shared these Wit & Wisdom Raw Hem Straight Leg Jeans as we were all just beginning the shift from skinny jeans to straight leg silhouettes. I think the slim fit of these jeans was very appealing to many. Well, that and the great price point.

I shared that the Timeless Skin Care 20% Vitamin C + E Ferulic Acid Serum was part of my morning skincare routine last winter and many of you purchased it. I know it doesn’t work well for some, but it does for me.
Actually I had run out of the Timeless Skin Care 20% Vitamin C + E Ferulic Acid Serum during the summer and failed to replenish it. But I just ordered more as I was writing this post.

I purchased a black The $50 Cashmere V-Neck Sweater from Quince when I was preparing for my Which Cashmere Sweaters are the Best? post. I got it in black because I figured if you can make a black cashmere sweater that isn’t thin and see-through, you can probably do pretty well with other colors, too.
I hope some of you got The $50 Cashmere V-Neck Sweater in some of those pretty colors. It runs a little small.
#7 – Everyday Stretch Straight Leg Pants
I frequently wear these Everyday Stretch Straight Leg Pants from Talbots when working from home. They feel polished enough to call yourself “dressed,” but casual enough to get out for a quick jaunt around the neighborhood.

#6 – Bagsmart Toiletry Bag
When I went to Florida last February I shared by I had packed everything I needed in my Bagsmart Toiletry Bag. And it continues to be my one bag for all of my toiletries. It’s so spacious and well designed.

#5 – Cinema Secrets Makeup Brush Cleaner
This Cinema Secrets Makeup Brush Cleaner was a huge hit this year. I do find that it cleans your makeup brushes thoroughly, but leaves them soft and in good shape, too. In the video shown below I shared that having clean brushes is key to smooth makeup application.
#4 – Silk Blend Ribbed Polo Top
I’m pretty sure the Dressed for My Day community singly purchased all of the Silk Blend Ribbed Polo Tops that J.Crew had to offer…in all three colors! I was so disappointed when it sold out because I wore my three on constant repeat from spring to fall, and I hated telling readers and viewers that it was no longer available.
I’m not sure you can appreciate the quality and versatility of this Silk Blend Ribbed Polo Top unless you got one. It is smooth and silky and stretchy and lovely. I’m really hoping J. Crew brings out a similar top this spring.
#3 – Tinkle Face Razors
I don’t find any picture of the Tinkle Face Razors in my archives. But somewhere I must have mentioned these inexpensive dermaplaning tools. I use one about every two weeks to remove peach fuzz from my face, along with dead skin. Yes, this is another tool that really helps with makeup application.
#2 -Linen Demi Boot Pants
I had purchased the ankle length linen pants from Talbots in 2021, but somehow these Linen Demi Boot Pants even exceeded those. They are definitely one of my top five purchases of 2022, and evidently many of you decided to purchase them, too.
Of course the Linen Demi Boot Pants are no longer available at Talbots, but anticipate them featuring similar pants in the spring.
#1 – CeraVe Tinted Sunscreen
And I’m so very pleased to tell you that the number one seller at Dressed for My Day in 2022 was the CeraVe Tinted Sunscreen. I can’t think of a more worthy winner! We’ll chalk this up to gaining a little wisdom with age. Evidently we 50+ gals have learned the importance of wearing good sunscreen.
The CeraVe Tinted Sunscreen has just the lightest amount of tint, enough to keep the mineral sunscreen from looking white on you. But that little bit of tin is magical. It works beautifully with every skin color and tone. Amazing. Especially if I’m spending time outside, I wear it over my moisturizer and under my makeup. The CeraVe Tinted Sunscreen has such a nice consistency, so it doubles as a makeup primer.

Blessed for My Day
I’ll be honest, I’d never paid much attention to the fact that the Proverbs 31 woman was a business woman…until I became one, too. But I’ve learned a lot from this savvy entrepreneur. For instance, in Proverbs 31: 16, we read that “She considers a field and buys it.” This woman didn’t just go about her business in a haphazard way. She put thought into it, investigated her investments carefully and acted decisively. That’s my goal, too. I want to be a good steward of the business God has entrusted to me.
Whether you have your own business or you simply manage the finances for your home, it’s a good time to look over past expenditures and income to see how it’s working for you. Ask yourself some tough questions. Seek financial advise and counseling if needed. Maybe get back on a solid budget if you’ve slipped out of the habit of keeping tabs. You’ll see me sifting through my records here for the next week or so. Let that serve as a reminder to you to do a little investigation of your own.
