I’ve shared several other holiday outfit inspiration posts this season, but I thought it would be nice to put together outfits from Kohl’s that have just a subtle hint of festive things to come. Plus, I wanted you to see how you might could use these items separately, not just in the outfits I’ve put together.

Faux Leather Pants for a Holiday Look

You can certainly wear faux leather pants now and into the warmer months. But I do think they elevate an outfit to special occasion appropriate. These Vera Wang tapered faux leather pants feel so comfortable, but they also look classy and elevated. You can pair them with this sparkly v-neck tank and a blazer for a party-ready look. Everything I’m showing today fits true to size.

You can add some sparkly shoes like these Nine West rhinestone high heels or wear some classic black or nude pumps or flats.

I completed this an the other looks with simulated crystal hoop earrings, a silver tone stretch bracelet and velveteen kiss-lock closure crossbody bag, adding a pop of color in a sophisticated hue. The crossbody bag also comes in a pretty blue and old rose.

I think these tapered faux leather pants look really snazzy in a holiday ensemble like this with a little bling. But just in case I have readers who prefer a more subtle outfit for holiday outings and gatherings, I also styled the pants with a simple but chic camel colored ribbed top.

Faux Leather Pants with Ribbed Top

In a different color this ribbed top would look more casual, but camel always translates a little elevated. So this pairing works beautifully for an office party or other low key but festive occasion.

I do think it may have been nice to add a pretty black necklace to this outfit.

For my next outfit I shifted gears and changed from the tapered faux leather pants to soft black Levi’s straight leg jeans. The jeans do come in other washes and fit true to size. The only caveat is that they are very long. Keep in mind that I’m 5’8″.

Black Jeans and Sparkly Camisole

If you like to wear jeans to your holiday parties, black is always a great choice. Because these are so long they might would look better with black suede booties. Other than swapping out the tapered faux leather pants for the Levi’s straight leg jeans, this outfit is the same as the one at the top of the post. But to me they read very differently because of those pants choices.

Top and Blazer

The sparkly v-neck tank is such a smart addition to a wardrobe because it will be quite versatile. It feels very comfortable on, and works beautifully under my black Nine West blazer. Unfortunately the sparkly v-neck tank is only available in limited sizes at this point. But I’ve included similar options in the shopping widget below, such as this ruffle trim halter top, this sequin cowlneck top, and this shimmery smocked top.

Blessed for My Day

By the time Jesus was born into this world in a humble stable, people had been desperately looking for and awaiting a savior for hundreds of years. In fact, many people had undoubtedly lost hope and felt like God had abandoned them. Oppression was real, life was hard and God had been silent. The world must have felt dark and scary and forsaken.

Some days that is exactly how I would describe the world we live in. It seems that not a day goes by that I don’t see or read something that absolutely appalls me. Wickedness seems to prevail, perversion has been lauded as normal and the world seems to be spiraling down. Can you relate? But the good news of Christmas is that “when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son…” And when the fullness of time comes again, the Father will send Him forth yet again. Amen.

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. ~ Galatians 4:4-5

xoxo, Kay
